Terms of membership
Last updated 26 October 2026. These terms cover monthly memberships and gift memberships.
What you're paying for
Membership costs $1 (US dollars) a month. It includes The Dave Dispatch, a monthly email newsletter about the name Dave, and supports the running of societyofdaves.com. Membership is a supporter subscription. It doesn't give you any rights, title, office or actual society, however much it feels like it should.
Billing
You're charged $1 when you join and then every month on the same date, until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your bank may charge a fee for payments in US dollars.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time from Manage membership, or by emailing hello@societyofdaves.com. Cancelling stops future payments. We don't refund part-months. If you were charged by mistake, email us and we'll sort it out.
Gift memberships
A gift membership is a one-off payment of $6 for 6 months or $12 for 12 months. It includes The Dave Dispatch for that period, starting on the delivery date the buyer chooses. It doesn't renew, and the recipient is never charged. If the recipient doesn't want it, they can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. If you need to change the recipient's email address or the delivery date, contact us before the delivery date. Refunds for gifts that haven't been delivered yet are available on request.
Parody
This site is a parody. We're not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any person, organisation or TV channel named on it. The facts on the site are researched in good faith, and if you spot a mistake, please tell us.
Changes
If we change the price or these terms, we'll email members at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
