How it works
- Choose and pay. Pick 6 or 12 months, tell us who it's for, and pay once with Stripe.
- We confirm. You get an email straight away confirming the gift and the delivery date.
- They unwrap it. On Christmas morning, or the day you chose, your Dave gets their gift email and joins the Society.
- The Dispatch arrives. They get The Dave Dispatch every month until the gift ends. Then we say a fond goodbye.
Gift questions
What is a Society of Daves gift membership?
It's 6 or 12 months of The Dave Dispatch, our monthly email newsletter about the name Dave, given as a gift. It costs $6 or $12, paid once, and it's delivered by email on the day you choose.
Will they be charged when the gift ends?
No. A gift membership is a one-off payment. It ends on its own, and the recipient is never asked for card details. When it ends, we let them know and they can choose to join for $1 a month.
When is the last day to order for Christmas?
You can order right up to Christmas Day. Gifts booked for Christmas go out early on 25 December, UK time. If you order on Christmas Day itself, the gift is sent as soon as you've paid.
Can I give it to someone who isn't called Dave?
Yes. They'll be welcomed as an Honorary Dave and addressed as Dave in all correspondence, under Article 3 of the Society's bylaws.
What if I typed the wrong email address or date?
Reply to your confirmation email or write to hello@societyofdaves.com before the delivery date and we'll correct it.
Can I give a gift that isn't for Christmas?
Yes. Choose "Straight away" or pick any date in the next year. It works for birthdays and for St David's Day on 1 March.
